This past weekend I attended the second annual Bump to Baby Show at Wychwood Barns hosted by Mira Heitz and Rachel Schwartzman. As someone who has been slowly ‘going natural’ over the past few years, this was a great event to learn about local natural products and companies. My friend Sonya and I were invited to arrive early and attend a tour before the doors officially opened. We kept falling behind the tour because we we were having great conversations with the vendors.
Here is a little round-up of some of the local, health conscious businesses that I had the pleasure of chatting with. For a complete list of vendors click here.

BRIDGE THE BUMP
Bridge the Bump designs and manufactures out of Toronto, ON, Canada by sisters-in-law Freda Langelo and Danielle Tchao . Their unique products are solutions to parents every day problems. After Freda and Danielle experienced a cold Canadian winter while pregnant the idea for their popular coat extension was born. This product allows expectant moms to wear their own jacket throughout pregnancy. After baby is born the extension can be worn over a baby carrier. Coming soon to Bridge the Bump: maternity/nursing reversible tops (modelled by Freda and Danielle above) and adorable baby/toddler sunhats.
THE SELFHOOD INITIATIVE
Catherine Cowan and Ash Frankel joined forces to create The Selfhood Initiative which is all about inspiring moms to nurture and think of themselves too! Their mission is to connect moms and create opportunities for them to “nourish and fuel their selfhood so they can shine in all their brilliance”. I have attended 2 of their events this year and left both feeling relaxed and inspired. I HIGHLY recommend checking out their upcoming 3-part workshop in June for expectant and new moms.
THIS LITTLE PIGGY
I was so excited to meet and chat with Faye Moxam owner of This Little Piggy, I have been to her shop many times, and corresponded via email, but never met in person. Faye opened her store a few years ago so that moms in the Parkdale and surrounding areas could get things that they would have before had to go online to find- hip clothing, new and interesting baby products, even a good nursing bra. It is my go-to shop for unique baby gifts and cute shirts for Morris.
